About Tyler
My Background
Hi! Thanks for visiting Three Sisters Therapy. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and therapist in Denver, Colorado. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I spent many of my young adulthood years on the East Coast. Now, I am happy to call beautiful Colorado my home.
My path towards social work was not linear. I studied politics and education as an undergrad student at American University. I then worked in the education nonprofit sector in Washington, DC. I always knew social work was my calling though, and took the plunge in 2018. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver in 2020.
In graduate school, I studied Family Systems Therapy. I have worked in a variety of fields including crisis therapy, hospital social work, and forensic social work within the criminal justice system. In addition to my therapy practice, I am also an adjunct professor at the University of Denver ‘s Graduate School of Social Work.
As a Therapist
I am deeply passionate about helping young adults and women navigate the unique and challenging experiences in life. As a female identifying therapist and someone who has gone through many of these experiences, I strive to arm other women with tools and resources to manage these specific issues. I also love working with folks of all identities navigating the complexities of relationship conflict, life changes, and work stress.
I have spent the past four years working as a forensic social worker, which includes providing clinical services for incarcerated individuals and their families and advocating for lesser and/or alternative sentencing. I have a solid understanding of the legal system and incarcerated life and I enjoy helping individuals and family members navigate these challenges.
My practice is named for the Three Sisters mountains in Central Oregon, a beautiful image and place that has often brought me tremendous peace throughout my life.
