My approach.
Are you feeling unsure of what the future holds? Struggling with a life transition? Wanting to build confidence but not sure how? We all find ourselves at impasses throughout life. It’s understandable and normal that we might need help working through life’s challenges. It’s my goal to support you on this journey in hopes of creating a better and deeper understanding of yourself. I believe that through this understanding comes healing, growth, and an ability to identify and express your emotions. I want to help you find confidence, peace, and self-compassion.
I primarily specialize in women’s issues, family/relationship conflict, life transitions, trauma, and PTSD. I am most passionate about long-term work with individuals healing from trauma and family of origin issues. Trauma and family conflict in particular, have a way of seeping into our present day lives and relationships. It takes time to unpack these experiences and understand our emotions. I want to help you identify the parts of yourself and areas in your life that need healing and help you through that process.
I also love working with life transitions, relationship conflicts, perfectionism, grief, and anxiety. I also work with family members of loved ones with legal charges or are incarcerated.
My practice is guided by a combination of theories and clinical techniques. I view my work through a social justice lens and take a trauma informed approach with my clients. I draw from family systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), person-centered therapy, and attachment theories to create a treatment plan specific to your needs and goals. I specialize in working with adolescents, emerging adults, adults of all ages, and couples.
I approach my work with curiosity, humility, and humor (sometimes we just need to laugh a little!). My goal is to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe and empowered to express your thoughts and feelings. Through a collaborative approach, I strive to create a compassionate and sincere therapeutic relationship.
